Tung Yue Nang’s obsession with painting is exemplified by several traits. They include his practice of painting before the break of dawn, spending an entire day creating artworks on site regardless of weather conditions to the extent that shop owners or old friends offer to watch over his art materials and making 12 hour long studio painting sessions a normalcy.
So how does an artist persist and live by his passion in Singapore where life is fast paced? Tung Yue Nang has a simple, straightforward motto which provides a hint. He believes that complicated things should be simplified, after-which treated as a sustainable practice.
